Position Overview:
We are looking for a Technical Proposal Specialist with strong expertise in water pumping systems, borehole drilling, solar power systems, and solar street lighting. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in preparing technical proposals for projects involving these services, with the ability to communicate technical solutions clearly and effectively. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive, competitive, and technically accurate proposals that highlight GPI’s strengths and address client needs in these areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of technical proposals for solar power systems, solar street lighting, water pumping systems, and borehole drilling projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, sales, and project management teams to collect technical specifications, cost estimates, and project requirements.
- Develop well-structured proposals that meet client requirements, including detailed designs, technical specifications, and value propositions for each service.
- Analyze tender documents and project briefs to ensure that all technical and commercial requirements are addressed in the proposals.
- Conduct research on market trends, customer needs, and competitive solutions to position GPI’s offerings effectively.
- Prepare cost breakdowns, pricing strategies, and technical documentation to support project bids.
- Coordinate the proposal preparation process, ensuring that all deadlines are met and that the proposals are submitted on time.
- Maintain and update proposal templates, technical documentation, and standard processes for future proposals.
- Support the sales team during client presentations, pre-bid meetings, and technical discussions to explain the technical aspects of the proposals.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal teams, including engineering, sales, and project management, to ensure seamless communication during the proposal process.
Qualifications and Skills:
- At least 5 years of experience in technical proposal preparation, preferably within the fields of solar power systems, solar street lighting, water pumping systems, and borehole drilling.
- Strong technical knowledge of solar energy technologies, solar street lighting, water pumping solutions, and borehole drilling processes and equipment.
- Proficiency in technical writing, with the ability to present complex technical details in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
- Experience in preparing cost estimates, system designs, and project scopes for proposals.
- Knowledge of renewable energy regulations, standards, and market trends, especially in solar and water management systems.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering design software (AutoCAD, etc.).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in any business-related field or Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related disciplines).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large-scale solar power projects, solar water pumping systems, and borehole drilling projects.
- Familiarity with solar street lighting and integrated solar solutions for off-grid communities or urban infrastructure.
- Experience using proposal management or project management software.
